Give Dad a Trip for Father’s Day!

Father's Day is approaching fast, and it's always a great opportunity to show gratitude and appreciation for the husbands, parents, step-parents, in-laws, and father-figures in our lives. If your situation is anything like mine, you’re struggling to find gifts for all of the dads you want to spoil each year. A good solution might be giving them a trip. Here are some options that might fit their interests:

If Dad is an adventure enthusiast:

  1. Whitewater rafting trip: This is a perfect option for dads who love outdoor activities and a good adrenaline rush. Rivers throughout the north-western United States offer some excellent river rafting opportunities that are sure to make for an unforgettable experience.

  2. Bungee jumping or skydiving: These are the perfect options for dads looking for the ultimate thrill. Take him to New Zealand which boasts plenty of adrenaline-boosts (and reputable companies that offer these services) and make sure he's in for a ride of a lifetime.

If your dad is a sports enthusiast:

  1. Attend a sports game: There's nothing like seeing a live game of your favorite team with your dad. Get tickets for his favorite team, or take him to visit the hall of fame for his favorite sport. Bonus points if the sporting event is in a different country that Dad has always wanted to visit!

  2. Is Dad still playing a sport? Book him an experience like a round of golf on his dream course in Scotland, or a baseball fantasy camp.

If your dad is a foodie:

  1. A culinary tour: Gift your dad a culinary tour in his dream foodie destination. You can join a group or book private tours to help your dad explore the local cuisine. These are great ways to learn about the city you’re in, as well as get some amazing bites along the way.

  2. Cooking class: Attend a cooking or baking class together in the birthplace of your dad’s favorite cuisine. You can learn some new skills, taste different food, and bond with your dad, all at the same time. France, Italy, Spain, Japan, and many more…there are lots of options for food-centric trips around the world!

If your dad is a history buff:

  1. A museum tour: Give your dad a chance to indulge in his passion for history. If your dad is a real geek for a particular period in history, take it a step further and book a private or exclusive-access tour that will give him something to brag to his buddies about.

  2. Historical site visit: For an easy win, pick a city or town with a rich history and take your dad on a private guided walking tour. You can learn about the history of the town and visit different significant places from a local expert who can answer all of Dad’s questions. But if you really want to knock Dad’s socks right out of his sandals, arrange a trip to explore the history of an ancient civilization—Egypt, Rome, Mexico, and Peru (just to name a few) are all great options for history buffs.

Remember that the best gift for Father's Day is usually the gift of time spent together. If you’re looking to help a dad get out and explore the world a little more, I can help! Click HERE to begin the process.
