What is the planning process like?
Easy!
When you’re ready to plan your trip you fill out the inquiry form (you can get there by clicking HERE).
I’ll reach out to set up a complimentary intake call where we get to know each other and discuss your trip.
If we decide to work together, and once the planning fee has been paid, I’ll get to work on your custom proposal - this takes 1-3 weeks, depending on the complexity of the trip.
You give me feedback on the proposal and we make any necessary adjustments until your trip looks just the way you want it to.
When the proposal is approved, we'll move ahead with a deposit and confirmation of itinerary details. I will work with my partners to ensure all of the moving pieces fall into place while you begin the countdown to departure.
In between booking & the date of departure, I make sure you have all of the necessary information & documents, I monitor any payment deadlines, and remain a resource to answer any questions that may arise. I also continue to support you throughout your trip.
Once you return, we schedule a time to debrief and start brainstorming ideas for the next adventure!

What kinds of trips do you plan?
A variety.
I specialize in custom luxury travel (4- and 5-star), and many of the trips I plan are for families. But I plan all sorts of trips to all sorts of destinations - cruises, small group tours, honeymoons, etc. I have a lot of experience traveling the globe, but it’s impossible for me to be an expert on every destination. So, when I haven't been to a destination in person I rely on my trusted colleagues at Pique Travel and preferred in-country suppliers to provide current information and reviews so that I can make sure everything is the right fit for my clients.

How do travel advisors get paid?
Through commission.
The bulk of my compensation comes in the form of commissions from suppliers, and the amount is based on a percentage of your trip. For hotels, cruise lines and tour operators the price you pay is the same whether you book on your own or through me - but I’m being compensated by the supplier as a thank you for sending them business.

Can you plan certain aspects of my trip while I take care of the rest?
Probably not.
I only work with and manage itineraries where I've arranged for all of the major components (not including airfare). My goal is to provide a seamless experience for my clients from start to finish and, unfortunately, things can get very complicated and confusing when I'm only managing bits and pieces of your trip. I consider one-off requests like this (hotels only, a couple of tours, etc.) on a case-by-case basis.
Do you charge fees?
Yes.
I charge a planning fee that covers itinerary design and management, and this reflects the added value that I bring to your travel experience. You're not paying me for my time--you're paying me to get back some of yours! Plus, my extensive knowledge and network of contacts help to ensure you get exactly what you want out of your trip (and I'm also there to advocate for you if things don't go as planned). How much does a trip to (your dream destination) cost?
It depends!
Costs can vary wildly depending on where you'd like to go, how many people are traveling, season, class of accommodations, etc. I have this budget guide to help you get a sense of what you might expect for an in-demand destination. Of course, there are lots of ways to make the most of your budget--we can always talk about options!

Will I be able to see an itemized breakdown of the cost of my trip ?
Generally, no.
Your itinerary will include bundled package pricing which displays the total and per person cost and what is included in the price (transfers, tours, hotels, etc.). Our partners have special industry rates with hotels, tour operators and transportation companies and they are contractually obligated to to keep these rates private as it would cause issues with other suppliers that don't get the same preferred rates. If the pricing does not meet your needs, we can discuss possible adjustments to your itinerary or I can refer you to another reputable agency.

Do you book AirBnb or VRBO ?
Sorry, but no.
There just isn't a way for me to be able to guarantee quality or safety with rentals like these, and there is very little I can do on your behalf if things don't go well during your stay. Plus, there is the additional, often negative, economic impact that these types of rentals are having on popular destinations. But if you're interested in a vacation house or villa, don’t worry - I have access to many beautiful options that have been evaluated and are operated by my trusted supplier partners.
